## BODMAS Rule:

**BODMAS** rule tells the order in which simplification should be performed.

**B**means Bracket

**O**means of

**D**means Division

**M**means Multiplication

**A**means Addition

**S**means Subtraction

#### Simplification Steps

**1. First of all the brackets must be removed, strictly in the order :**

- Vinculum ----
- Circular Bracket ( )
- Curly Bracket { }
- Square Bracket [ ]

**2. After removing the brackets, and then follow the below order:**

- OF
- Division
- Multiplication
- Addition
- Subtraction

### Modulus of a Real Number:

Modulus of a real number a is defined as

|a| =

**a**, if

**a > 0**

**-a**,

**if a < 0**

Thus, |7| = 7 and |-7| = -(-7) = 7.
